Robert Downey Jr. says, “I’m an idiot”

Ok, so he really didn’t say that, but he did diss The Dark Knight in an interview for being “too smart” and over his head. He even said, “I felt like I needed a college education to understand it.” I am sorry, but it is idiots like Downey Jr. that make Hollywood the moron filled wasteland that it is today. It is the people that can’t think out of a paper bag, or understand literature (or even analyize anything for that matter) that make stupid, no thought movies. I mean, I learned how to analyze a work of literature in high school, I didn’t need a college education for that. Plus, who cares if you needed a college education? Maybe you should take a hint and actually start enhancing your brain power beyond, “I like booze”. Seriously, Downey Jr. I liked Ironman and thought you did a good job, but your comments just make me really sad. Dude, go to a library and read a book. It’s free. Seriously, try it.

YOURopinion: Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder, the recent comedy directed, written, and acted by Ben Stiller has been gettings cheers and jeers as of late. Many find it to be an extremely eye opening comedy piece about Hollywood, humanity, and everything in general. Others are furious over the lines they cross, particuarly their jokes about the mentally handicapped. The uproar has risen to outside public protesting levels and it doesn’t seem like it will die down anytime soon (there has been talk of theater’s banning the movie).

So, being that this is an opinion piece, what do you think? Should Tropic Thunder be considered just another comedy? Or, has it crossed the line and need to be banned from the theaters?
